eduroam for guest

What is eduroam?

eduroam (EDUcation ROAMing) is a roaming infrastructure used by the international research and education community.

eduroam enables users (researchers, teachers, students, staff) from participating institutions to securely access the Internet from any eduroam-enabled institution.

The eduroam principle is based on the fact that the user's authentication is done by the user's home institution, whereas the authorization decision allowing access to the network resources is done by the visited network.

eduroam at Medical University of Silesia

The wireless network eduroam at our University is a part of the pan-European system. If your home institution also participates in this project you will be able to connect to our network easily.

If your home network also uses "eduroam" as network name (SSID) connection should be automatically.

If your home network identifier is different you need to choose eduroam from the list of available wireless networks and use the data you enter at your home institution to connect to the network.

Technical data of our network:

  • network name (SSID): eduroam
  • authentication: WPA2-Enterprise
  • cipher: AES
